First Milk member meetings announced

The NFU is urging members who are First Milk producers to attend a series of meetings organised to discuss the price cuts and payments delay.

Meetings have been arranged by the co-operative in Scotland, the Midlands and Cumbria.

These are member-only events with written invitations having already gone out to producers.

A statement on the First Milk website reads: “The First Milk Board will be running a series of meetings with members this week and next, ensuring every member has an opportunity to discuss last week’s announcement with their leadership team. Members with any queries should contact their local area rep, farm enterprise team member, or Board member.”

NFU dairy board chairman Rob Harrison said: “Following First Milk’s announcement last week, it is important that members with queries attend these meetings for clarification on any issues.

“The NFU continues to support its dairy members during this terribly difficult period. Any members with questions for the NFU on this issue can phone NFU CallFirst on 0370 845 8458.”
