Truss set to be new environment secretary

Liz Truss is going to be the new environment secretary, according to the BBC and it has now been confirmed by the Prime Minister on twitter. The broadcaster quoted its own John Pienaar as saying that she has been lined up to replace Owen Paterson.

Liz Truss is the member of parliament for South-West Norfolk. According to her website, she worked in the energy and telecommunications industry for ten years as a commercial manager and economics director and is a qualified management accountant. She read Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Merton College, Oxford University.
