Sheep rustlers cost farmers thousands by stealing their animals and diluting their pedigree and value, reports the Telegraph.

Former champion breeder Charles “Neville” Raine, 66, and his nephew Phillip, 47, were each jailed for three years yesterday after they found to have 116 sheep which did not belong to them at their farms.

The stolen sheep belonged to 14 farmers from County Durham, Cumbria and North Yorkshire.
