They have been an unusual landmark greeting motorists into west London for nearly four decades.

The herd of fibreglass cows on top of the Dairy Crest factory has been described as Hounslow’s answer to the “Angel of the North”.

But the cattle have disappeared, upsetting local residents and commuters using the A316.

Now more than 5,000 people from as far away as Australia have signed an online petition for them to be put back out to graze.
