New hotdesking hub for agri businesses opens at Rothamsted

Rothamsted Enterprises has opened a vibrant new Collaborative Hub offering hotdesking space for businesses across the agriculture, farming, food, science, climate change, innovation, and technology sectors.

The hub, in the heart of the historic Russell building in Harpenden, has been extensively refurbished with the help of Local Growth Funding from Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and Herts Innovation Quarter (Herts IQ), and is now ready and waiting for hot-deskers to enjoy from Monday 17th May.

The stunning red-brick building also offers modern office space ranging from 200 sq.ft. to over 1,200 sq.ft., and is part of Herts IQ, an enterprise zone that is supporting the growth of agri-tech businesses in Hertfordshire. With Rothamsted being part of HertsIQ, office space tenants could enjoy tax relief of up to £55k.

Enquiries are particularly encouraged from businesses across the agriculture, farming, food, science, climate change, innovation, and technology communities, or those who partner with, support or supply to these sectors.

Nicole Sadd, Rothamsted Enterprises CEO, commented on the opening: “Our stunning new collaborative hub really is the ideal place for agribusinesses to come and hotdesk. Enjoy the benefits of the beautiful campus and seek out those water-cooler moments. Meet with other like-minded businesses and who knows what collaboration and innovation opportunities are around the corner!”

Hotdesking will be available from Monday to Friday, 8am – 6pm with a superb range of modern, comfortable facilities on offer. Free lockers, free carparking, free tea and coffee, free Wi-Fi, as well as printing facilities and a fully staffed reception.

For hotdeskers, the Rothamsted Restaurant is open Monday to Friday 9am-3pm, serving breakfast, lunch, drinks, and snacks. The campus also offers meetings and event space at Rothamsted Conference Centre. In addition, the campus itself is spectacular rural space, full of interesting walking routes and green fields on its doorstep, despite being just a short walk to Harpenden town centre and Harpenden train station. Full social distancing measures will be in place and Rothamsted are a COVID-secure venue.
