With record numbers of applications expected this year, the Nuffield Farming Scholarship Trust is encouraging prospective Scholars to get their applications in early.
“Although the deadline date for completed applications is 31 July I would strongly urge that submissions are made early,” says Mike Vacher, Nuffield director.
He explains that the trust is on hand to offer support with the application process and reminds prospective Scholars that they are responsible for ensuring that their referees submit references in confidence before the deadline.
“Although straightforward, the application process can be daunting and often raises questions along the way for many prospective Scholars. Applicants are reminded that staff in the Nuffield office are available to offer as much guidance as needed,” says Mike.
“And, if valuable, we can even introduce applicants to Nuffield alumni who may be local to their area or share an interest in the topic they wish to study,” he adds.
Nuffield invite applications from individuals who must be three years or more post tertiary education and have been engaged in farming, rural land-based industries, the food sector or other agriculturally associated industries for at least two years, and intend to remain in their industry. Applicants should be under 45 years of age.
The application process is straightforward and requires one online form to be submitted (available from www.nuffieldscholar.org). Prospective Scholars do not need academic qualifications.
