Norbrook and NMR host 50 dairy farmers on educational visit to AgriScot

Norbrook is hosting 50 dairy farmers from Northern Ireland on an educational visit to AgriScot, which takes place on 19 November 2014. The trip has been organised in cooperation with National Milk Records (NMR), the leading supplier of milk recording services in the UK.

As part of the event programme, the group will also visit two of the largest family farms in Scotland, which stock almost 5,000 cattle between them. This field trip aims to encourage the exchange of learning and good practice in the sector.

On Norbrook’s involvement, Edward Haughey, Director of Norbrook GB said:
“We are delighted that the NMR invited Norbrook to partner on this worthy cause. Family farms are the bedrock of Northern Ireland’s agri-food industry and indeed the broader UK economy. As a company that is also family owned and family run, Norbrook is committed to serving and supporting our farmers in the shift towards smart and sustainable agriculture.”

Despite the dramatic rise in the Norbrook brand and business, the company remains firmly rooted at home in Northern Ireland, with our headquarters located in Newry. This on-the-ground footing means that our end customers gain a unique advantage through Norbrook – we offer a genuine understanding of the local context that has been built up over almost 50 years.

Speaking of the joint initiative, Andy Warne, Managing Director of NMR said:
“Dairy farming is becoming an increasingly complicated business and the forecast low milk price means farmers need to be smart and focus on the areas of their business which drive efficiency. NMR’s recording service aims to supply the management information needed to drive efficiency and this type of event helps generate the new ideas which farmers need for the future. We are happy to partner with Norbrook who, we believe, share our farmer-focused strategies.”
