Andrea Leadsom is facing calls to be sacked after she suggested men should not be nannies – because they might be paedophiles.

During a discussion about the challenges faced by parents, the new Environment Secretary said it was “cautious and very sensible” to not employ men to care for children.

Her comments were made during an interview with The Times before she dropped out of the Tory leadership race, handing the job to Theresa May.
