First Milk launches ’most innovative’ brand extension

Further strengthening First Milk’s reputation as Britain’s most innovative dairy company, the farmer owned business has just launched The Lake District Dairy Co. Cooking Sauces.

This brand extension builds on the continuing success of First Milk’s Quark range that was launched 14 months ago. Since then sales of The Lake District Dairy Co range have led to the category nearly doubling in size in the UK.

Arriving on shelves later this year, The Lake District Dairy Co. Cooking Sauces will be available in three flavours; garlic & herb, tikka, and tomato & basil.

First Milk marketing director David Young commented: “Our expanding range of dairy nutrition and lifestyle nutrition is delivering genuine newness to consumers. With typically up to half the calories and up to treble the protein of competitor products – Lake District Dairy Co. Cooking Sauces fit perfectly into consumer needs for healthy natural alternatives for day-to-day recipes.

“The Lake District Dairy Co. Cooking Sauces use the same British quark base as the Natural, Vanilla and Lemon flavours, with the unique spoonable texture that has been developed by our innovation team.”
